Stuff I'm working on

Hey, everyone! Sorry for the wait. I've been really busy lately, so I hope you understand. Also, there really hasn't been much to talk about. I've added a little widget in the sidebar that shows the projects I'm working on. Just so you can see how busy I am. :-P Oh, and I've also put in a Twitter widget. Also, I'm starting to post at the new 366 in 366, so I encourage you to check it out. Well, until next time.

Super ONM RPG: Legend of the Four Followers

Okay. Development is underway for Super ONM RPG: Legend of the Four Followers. It's going pretty rough, but I'm determined to get this going quickly. I'm trying not to use existing libraries (that way I can better customise gameplay and make it run smoothly) so it may take a while. I'll be posting more on the development of this game over time. When will the next update be? I do not know. However, that time is hopefully soon.

Nintendo announcements at Game Developers Conference today!

Wow... today is a very exciting day for Nintendo fans. Satoru Iwata (president and CEO of Nintendo) delivered a keynote of great interest. Rather than go on about it, I'm just going to give the facts. Starting from the top...

NEW ZELDA!!!
Legend Of Zelda: Spirit Tracks will be released on Nintendo DS later this year with Phantom Hourglass-style visuals.

PLAY ARCADE GAMES ON THE VIRTUAL CONSOLE!!!
You can now play Mappy, Gaplus, The Tower of Druaga (all by Namco) and Starforce (by Tecmo) on the Virtual Console. If you have to pick one, choose The Tower of Druaga - it's awesome. Also, its sequel, Return of Ishtar is coming soon!

PLAY VIRTUAL CONSOLE AND WIIWARE GAMES FROM SD CARD!!!
No more Memory Space Tetris! Just store the game to the card and you can play it whenever you want.

4GB AND 8GB SD CARD SUPPORT!!!
2GB not enough? Now you can use a 4GB or even 8GB SD card!

ORIGINAL NES FINAL FANTASY COMING TO VIRTUAL CONSOLE!!!
I'm an FF fan, y'see? The game Square thought would be their final game and went on the spawn 12 direct sequels and a whole bunch of spin-offs is coming to the Virtual Console! Also, the next five games might be coming too... (and Square Enix said they couldn't because they lost the floppy disk with the source code...)

NEW FINAL FANTASY GAME COMING TO WIIWARE!!!
A sequel to My Life As A King will be released later this year titled My Life As A Dark Lord.

FINAL FANTASY IV SEQUEL COMING TO WIIWARE!!!
It has been announced that the sequel to Final Fantasy IV called The After Years will be coming to WiiWare.

50000000 WII CONSOLES!!!
Okay, maybe not so exciting, but 50 million Wii consoles have been sold so far. Go Wii!

Wow... So many exciting things... I'm so excited I can't even type! Remember that this is only the Games Developer Conference. Imagine what Nintendo will have in store at, let's say, the Electronic Entertainment Expo in a few months.

It's time to Punch-Out!!

Okay! So today, a new trailer for the upcoming Wii game Punch-Out!! has been unveiled. The game is heavily based on the NES version, a review of which can be found at Termina Reviews. The music in this trailer brings back a big sense of nostalgia and it's great to see familiar faces such as Little Mac, Doc Louis, Glass Joe, Von Kaiser and King Hippo. There's also a new character, Disco Kid and there are probably many more opponents. One thing to note is the return of Little Mac's pink tracksuit (right) which also appeared in the NES version. You can watch the trailer below:

Nintendo DSi Virtual Console - confirmed?

As I was scouring about the interwebs today, I noticed a strange piece of news.  As some may know, Nintendo of America has now implemented the Club Nintendo customer loyalty programme into their website.  Previously, this was only available in Japan and Europe, but now by registering certain games on the website, you can buy special gifts.  It seems that (in contrast to Europe's system) there are several types of membership.  It seems that early this morning (UTC time), Nintendo held an event for certain Club Nintendo members to preview the upcoming Nintendo DSi.  One interesting thing to come from it is this:
Kombo.com:
"Unless I missed it previously, then the big piece of good news to surface from this event is that downloadable Game Boy and Game Boy Advance titles are coming. [...] To start with, however, there will only be first-party Nintendo titles."
There has been speculation about a system similar to the Wii's Virtual Console that would allow users to download games from previous systems to the Nintendo DSi. So far, this hasn't been confirmed, but it's a nice thought and hopefully this really will become a reality.

A new beginning

Okay, sorry everyone for not posting.  I've been extremely busy.  I know it's a bit late for a New Year's resolution, but I'll try updating this blog almost every day.  Probably on weekdays, it will be about something that happened that day and on weekends, a general rant about something.  I don't know yet.  It will probably be completely random.  Well, watch this space...
